Hello
Thanks for visiting my website! I am a consultant, educator, and facilitator that thrives off of connection and community. My experiences in the corporate, education, and non-profit worlds have all brought me to the same conclusion: we can be responsible for a more equitable world in which everyone can thrive. With a focus on gender and masculinity I aspire to work with individuals, communities, and organizations to empower everyone involved to take responsibility for their role in a better world.

Vishal's Story
Vishal's journey started in Jacksonville, FL where he grew up as the son of Indian immigrants in a large tight knit community where the idea of family was expansive. After the loss of his mother in a battle with breast cancer he watched his father step in and navigate parental (and therefore gender) roles, setting an example of a different kind of masculinity for him and his younger brother.
Vishal started his career in management consulting at Kurt Salmon, Part of Accenture Strategy serving clients in the retail industry. Along with the skills of project management, executive communications, and data analysis he also understood the power dynamics present in the American boardroom. In an effort to help empower young people to break the cycles of exclusion and disempowerment in corporate America he shifted his career to serve undergraduates in the office of Career Advancement at The University of Chicago. At UChicago he had the opportunity to serve as the first departmental director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Most recently Vishal served as the first Director at a bay area based non-profit that provided social emotional resources and programming to build healthy masculinity in boys.

As a consultant Vishal has had the opportunity to work with various non-profit and for-profit organizations to make meaningful change. His experiences include working to develop a DEI strategy and communications for a Detroit neighborhood advocacy organization, delivering career development workshops at HBCU's, performing equity audits for a national online alternative skills validation project, and designing and delivering 100+ participant workshops on human connection and inclusivity for clients such as The Skimm through Late Nite Art. Additionally Vishal co-created a retreat program focused on engaging men in gender equity, and continues to facilitate this retreat program annually. Vishal continues to seek organizations to partner with that are looking to integrate more thoughtful learning and development, particularly around issues of identity, equity, and strategy.
Vishal is currently working towards a PhD in Human Development and Social Policy at Northwestern University, where his research focuses on developing interventions that engage men in gender equity. He holds a masters degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University where he served the university as an Equity and Inclusion Fellow and co-founded the first university-wide conference on gender and sexuality. Vishal received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
